PUREAIR PHI ACTIVE CLEANING
‘Active’ cleaning uses systems that circulate purifying agents in and around the environment cleaning the whole space at the same time, whereas ‘Passive’ cleaning requires air to go through a filter to be cleaned..

By circulating active cleaning agents into spaces from the PureAir’s integrated PHI Cell manufactured by RGF Environmental, one of the worlds leading air, water and food purification specialists, harmful viruses, pathogens and contaminants are destroyed and rendered inert and safe providing continuous 24/7 protection. Even if new contaminants enter the space the active cleaning agents immediately attack and eliminate them, even if they are transferred to surfaces. With a filter based system it may take hours to process all the air in a room, especially if new contaminants are brought in. They also provide no protection against contamination.
Active Air Purification
The PureAir PHI’s Active air purification system does not require air to pass through the unit, but instead sends purifying agents from its integrated PHI Cell out into the space via the fan, not only cleaning the air, but all surfaces they come in to contact with as well, all at the same time.
Passive Air Purification
Passive air purification systems require air to pass through a filter in order to be cleaned. This means it can take a very long time to treat all the air in a room or space, which may not even be achievable in poorly circulated areas.
HOW IT WORKS
The Airius PureAir PHI Series incorporates a patented PHI (Photohydroionisation) Cell within the fan unit. The PHI Cell emits ‘Ionised Hydroperoxides’, a naturally occurring cleaning agent, which are circulated throughout spaces via the fan.
As the fans circulate internal atmosphere, the PHI circulates its neutralising Ionised Hydroperoxides, providing 24/7 continuous Air Purification.
PHOTOHYDROIONISATION CELL
The Airius PureAir’s Integrated PHI Cell™ Manufactured by one of the Worlds Leading Specialists in Air, Water & Food Purification – RGF Environmental, is the latest advancement in Photohydroionisation™ Technology, using an Advanced Oxidisation Process to clean air and eliminate odours
At the heart of every PureAir Series fan is a unique Photohydroionisation (PHI) Cell, which uses a broad spectrum, high efficiency UV bulb working with a hydrated quad-metallic target. This acts as a catalyst for a reaction that produces hydroperoxides, super oxide ions, passive negative ions, hydroxides and ozonide ions. These safe and naturally occurring ions and oxides are circulated throughout spaces via the fan, which bond with germs, bacteria and viruses and through an advanced oxidisation process breaks them down, rendering them inert, safe and odour free. In addition to biological pollutants these cleaning agents also neutralize chemicals such as mercury, benzene, formaldehyde, chloroform, and ammonia.

INSTALLATION
Typically, Airius fans are installed in the ceiling space with the nozzle directed directly downwards and performs best when the air column is unimpeded to the floor.
Units must be hung using fixings such as hooks, chains, cables etc to professionally installed hardware capable of supporting a minimum of five times the weight of the unit.

How many Airius systems have been sold to date?

Does the PureAir PHI eliminate COVID19?
In independent tests RGF PHI Cell technology was shown to have a 99.9% inactivation rate on surface and 99.5% inactivation rate on aerosol forms of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID19) virus.
Testing commenced in March carried out in a 36m3 (1,280ft3) testing chamber using the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not a surrogate or similar virus. Results show the virus is killed on contact with the PHI’s cleaning agents, effectively neutralising the virus within the chamber within a matter of minutes.
It is important to note that no medical claims are made.
What is the difference between 'Active' & 'Passive' Air Purification?
There are two types of air purifiers available for home use, which use two main kinds of purification processes. These are:
• Passive type air purifiers, which are the standard HEPA filters, where the air is drawn into the machine and passed through a filter to remove contaminants, before clean air is released on the other side.
• Active type air purifiers, that send cleaning agents out into the space to clean the air, and create an ambient atmosphere.
What is Photohydroionisation?
Photohydroionisation (PHI) is an advanced oxidation technology developed to minimize and neutralize indoor air pollutants such as bacteria, viruses, mould, gases (VOCs) and odours.
PHI utilizes a broad-spectrum, high intensity UV light targeted on a hydrated quad-metallic catalyst surface. This target surface is covered with a proprietary quad-metallic and hydrophilic coating. The UV light reacts with the catalyst and moisture to produce an advanced oxidation plasma consisting of hydro-peroxides, super oxide ions and hydroxide ions.

What are ionised Hydro Peroxides?
Controlled oxidation (giving up or losing of an electron) is an excellent way to destroy organics such as odours, viruses, moulds, bacteria and VOCs.
The PureAir Series emits ‘friendly’ oxidisers, meaning they revert to harmless oxygen, water and hydrogen.
Hydrogen peroxide has been used by the medical community for 170 years and is considered the safest oxidizer available (after oxygen). It is widely used today in toothpaste, mouthwash and household cleaners.
Hydroperoxides are known as Mother Nature’s natural cleaning agent. It is ionized hydrogen peroxides that make the air smell clean after a thunderstorm.
What is the Warranty period?
All Airius PureAir Series fans come with a 5 year Fan Replacement Warranty, as well as a 2 year PHI Cell Replacement Warranty. Simply return defective units to Airius, carriage paid and upon receipt Airius will dispatch a new unit by return carriage fully paid.
